Learn more about what I do

My ministry is .....

serving the Japanese who live in Alabama by using the game of golf to explain the Gospel.  In particular, God's grace to us sinners.  It's called "Grace" (megumi)  or "Kamisama no megumi" (Grace of God).  If you scroll down to the blog section you can see the different ways I have tried to use golf to bridge the gap from the known to the unknown. From the seen to the unseen from the physical to the spiritual.

Golf is the one bridge I can use to reach men, especially those who work all week at Honda and are busy with their families on Sunday. If they are going to hear and see the Gospel message, we have to go to them.

Hopefully, in the near future this webpage will  also be in Japanese,  which is the ultimate goal - digital tracts.

But's that's not all we do ...

we have also taught English classes for the Japanese here in Alabama and had events with them  .... picnics, evangelistic parties,  Christmas celebrations, VBS ...... outreaches for the Japanese families who are here for only a few years before they have to go back to their homeland.  Unfortunately, covid brought an end to most of these outreaches ... except ... golf.

But wait! There's more

I also teach at Birmingham Theological Seminary (in English). Going on 13 years of teaching Biblical Greek and Hebrew. What a blessing to have input into so many men (and a few ladies) who are involved in serving the Lord.

Lastly

After 20 years with TEAM in Japan and 16 with the Wales Goebel Ministry, I am now under the umbrella of McCalla Bible Church. If you are wanting to support this golf outreach (I want to take this beyond Japanese to anyone I meet thru golf using this English website) you can make a tax deductible donation to :

McCalla Bible Church
5860 Old Tuscaloosa Highway
McCalla, AL 35111

Just indicate who it is for and it will come to me.

Or you can send it to me directly as a gift (not tax deductible) via Venmo, PayPal or snail mail. Let me know and I'll send you the info.  I haven't got a good feeling about posting my Venmo and PayPal info on the internet!

Thanks. May the Lord bless you and supply all your needs.
